Averon/Company

An assurance function, not a product company.

Averon exists to answer one question for one audience: whether the AI systems being deployed across the Gulf can be trusted with the access they have been given. We do that as an independent party, from inside the jurisdiction, and we sell nothing that would compromise the answer.

01 Why we exist

Deployment is running ahead of assurance.

Across the region, AI has moved from pilot to production faster than any technology in recent memory. Assistants over internal knowledge. Retrieval pipelines across regulated document estates. Agents wired into ticketing, core systems and payment rails. The programmes are well-funded and moving quickly.

The assurance function around them has not moved at the same rate — not through negligence, but because the discipline is new, the failure modes are unfamiliar, and the vendors with the deepest expertise sit outside the jurisdiction and cannot be given the access the work requires.

That gap is what Averon was built to close: the specialist adversarial capability, positioned where it can actually be used.

Who we work with

A deliberately narrow client profile

  • Banks and financial institutions under SAMA supervision deploying AI into customer, credit or operations functions.
  • Government entities and national programmes within NCA scope.
  • Large enterprises in energy, telecommunications, healthcare and logistics with regulated data estates.
  • Organisations whose AI deployment influences a decision, a transaction, or a system of record — not a demonstration.

We do not publish client names, display logos, or reference engagements in marketing material. References are provided directly, with the client's written consent, during procurement.

02 Independence charter

The constraints we accept in order to be worth listening to.

An assurance opinion is worth precisely as much as the independence of the party issuing it. These are commitments, and they are written into our engagement terms.

  1. 01 We do not sell what we assess Averon does not develop, resell, or receive commission on models, orchestration platforms, guardrail products, or AI security tooling. We have no product whose adoption our findings could be shaped to support.
  2. 02 We do not remediate what we assess We state the architectural change required and review the remediation. We do not take the implementation work. An assessor who is also the builder has an interest in what the assessment finds.
  3. 03 No vendor relationships that could bias a finding We hold no reseller agreements, referral arrangements, or revenue relationships with vendors in the AI or AI-security market. Where any relationship exists, it is disclosed in writing before scoping.
  4. 04 Findings are not negotiable Severity is set by methodology, not by the recipient's preference. We will correct a factual error at any point. We will not soften a finding, and we will not withdraw one that remains true.
  5. 05 Named authorship Every report carries the name of the person who wrote it and the engagement lead who signed it, both of whom are available to defend it to your board, your auditor, or your regulator.
  6. 06 Confidentiality is the default state No client identification, no case studies, no logo walls, no conference talks referencing engagement material. Nothing about your deployment leaves the engagement.
03 Operating principles

How the work is done.

These are methodological commitments, and they are the reason our reports are shorter and harder to dismiss than the alternative.

P-01

Chains, not payloads

A payload that produces an unusual response is not a finding. A finding is a path from an entry point to a consequence — data reached, action taken, control bypassed — reconstructed end to end.

P-02

Manual, with tooling for coverage

Automated scanners establish that we have covered the surface. They do not produce findings. Every reported issue is established, reproduced and understood by a person.

P-03

Variance is stated, not hidden

These systems are probabilistic. We report the reproduction rate we observed and the conditions under which it holds, rather than presenting a single successful run as deterministic.

P-04

Remediation is architectural

We do not recommend prompt patches for control failures. If the fix can be undone by a sentence, it was not a control. Enforcement belongs between the model and the system.

P-05

Detection is part of the finding

Every successful chain is accompanied by what your monitoring saw. A control gap you cannot detect is materially worse than one you can.

P-06

Short reports

We do not pad a register with informational observations to justify a fee. If an engagement produces four findings, the report contains four findings.

04 People

Named on the engagement, not on the website.

Averon's practice is small and senior by design. Engagement leads are disclosed by name, with full background, during scoping and under mutual non-disclosure — the same standard we apply to everything else about an engagement.

We do not publish a team page. Our clients' security postures are not improved by our staff being enumerable, and neither is ours.

Standards

Engagement personnel

  • All engagement personnel are in-region and subject to background verification to the client's required standard.
  • Additional clearance and vetting is arranged where the client's classification demands it, before access is granted.
  • Access to engagement data is scoped to the named engagement team and revoked at closure.
  • Every engagement has a named lead, accountable for the findings and available after delivery.

Start with the architecture.

A scoping session establishes what applies to your deployment and what an engagement would cover. No commercial commitment.
